Android SMS
Use Android SMS in the Admin sidebar to configure a Store’s gateway, send an individual text message and check delivery records.
Set up a Store
- Ask the deployment administrator to approve the gateway’s base address using
ANDROID_SMS_ALLOWED_GATEWAYS. For a local Android server, the backend must be able to reach the phone’s network address. - Select the Store, approved address and connection mode. Use Local Android server for the phone’s local server, or Cloud / private server for its cloud API.
- Enter the gateway username and password, enable SMS and save. Passwords are not displayed after saving. Leave the password blank to keep it; enter it again when changing the address, mode or username.
- Choose Check connection. This checks gateway health without sending a text.
Send SMS sends a real message to the entered international phone number. Confirm you are authorized to contact that recipient. SMS does not support PDF attachments; long messages may be charged as several SMS segments.
Reports and appointments
In operating reports, add an Android SMS management recipient to receive report summaries. Daily, weekly, monthly and annual report switches and schedules still apply. The PDF remains available in Admin and follows the existing archive settings.
For Customer notifications, separately enable appointment SMS on the gateway page. In Customer Management, choose the speech-bubble Appointment SMS consent action for the selected Store. Record explicit Customer authorization before enabling it. This consent covers booking, rescheduling and cancellation messages only. A changed phone number requires fresh consent. Email and marketing preferences remain separate.
Marketing campaigns
Marketing SMS has a separate default-off switch and separate Customer consent. Use Marketing automation for draft, preview, approval and scheduling; enabling appointment SMS does not enable marketing.
Read delivery status
Pending/accepted means the message is waiting; Sent does not prove Delivered. Automatic checking covers the last seven days. Check status queries the existing message without sending another copy. Older records can still be checked manually.
Only failed submissions without gateway acceptance offer retry. Unknown or already accepted messages must be checked instead. Cancel is available only before the first submission; it does not claim to cancel a message already on the phone.
If the gateway identity was changed, restore the original gateway to reconcile old messages. Disabling SMS prevents further sends and does not erase history.
